My plan is to book across Nantucket Sound and cut through Woods Hole (should be called Woods Rapids) and go across Buzzards Bay and over to Newport. That will give us about 20 NM of exposure to the tropical storm waves off the coast of Rhode Island but I'm hoping the islands provide somewhat of a lee shore by the time we depart... I'll probably regret this... I have this saying about "Don't travel in weather that has a name." It's overcast, drizzle, and windy here at the moment. I finished the repair last night and rinsed the engine room down with fresh water. Here is a nice picture of Lou (all wet from the rain) looking down at me in the engine room:
Note how you can see the back of his head when you look into his eyes.

I think maybe she was just trying to send me a message as this was planted on the side of the place:
The place was very nice. It's actually an Inn you can stay at and the history of the joint is such that a whaler made so much money in one season (about $1.2M in today's dollars), he retired at age 35 and became a "town gentleman". I think that means he made so much money he bought a house and just picked up chicks the rest of his life.

And then head down to the basement:
The food was outstanding... Best we've had in Nantucket:
The chef fishes locally and I had the striped bass he caught that morning. Excellent-o. Susie, however, thinks that our cell phones are causing an issue when we go to a restaurant:
So I proceeded to tell the boys how their eyebrows will turn into Azalea bushes if they don't keep them trimmed:
And a rare shot of my two oldest boys pretending to like each other:
We got out of the restaurant about dusk and walked the town:

Susie bought a nice book, first edition signed by the author, with pictures of Nantucket and various stories. She says my pictures and stories are not something she would put on the coffee table...

We came back to the boat, got in a family fight and went to bed.
Going to head up town this morning a do some "shopping" and then check the weather and see if we'll get out of here today.

Gary, this is all great! (though I can't see any of the photos from here at work; gotta love filters and firewalls).
I've been using Google Maps to see where you've been and are going. Ever consider using something like http://www.gpsvisualizer.com to plot your track, for all of us to see? I assume you can get your track info with all your famous gadgetry on the boat.
