T-Minus Three Days

Never understood that "T-Minus..." crap and I used to work for NASA... but it makes a good title.

Today my oldest son and I installed a new freezer on the boat. It is one of the under-counter jobs with a swing door and the old one (5 years is not "old" but...) conked out a few weeks ago. I found someone that had a direct replacement and was pretty lucky as Sub-Zero doesn't make this unit anymore.

The problem with this whole thing is that I pulled off the old one when the boat was at the marina with floating docks and we just walked it off the back onto the dock. Well the boat is now parked up on the Chickahominy River on a private dock and the access is a little different. We basically backed the truck up to the hill heading down the dock:

And then had to get the dang thing out on the dock and over onto the boat over the cockpit edge.

My son was really thrilled about playing "mover man" today but he did good.

He got his license this morning and needed some gas money so I gave him 4 bucks for working 3 hours. That's enough to get him about 12 miles in that truck.

I ended up messing around with the cabinet doors that cover the freezer for an hour or so. I didn't remember them being so out of alignment but I guess I never looked. Anyway... freezer is in, icemaker works, and everyone is happy...

New bridge canvas goes on tomorrow.
